Bathukamma, Telangana’s iconic flower festival, was celebrated with great joy and cultural pride in Kodad. The town came alive with vibrant colours as women gathered to prepare beautifully stacked flower arrangements made of marigolds, gunuka, thangedu, and other seasonal blossoms.
From early morning, the streets of Kodad were filled with songs, laughter, and the fragrance of fresh flowers. Dressed in traditional sarees, women and girls formed circles around their Bathukammas, singing folk songs that celebrated womanhood, nature, and the cultural heritage of Telangana.
As the evening approached, groups from different colonies and communities came together in open grounds and temple areas, creating a lively festive atmosphere. The rhythmic claps, traditional dances, and joyful voices echoed throughout the town.
The celebrations concluded with the symbolic immersion of Bathukammas in local water bodies, marking gratitude to nature and praying for prosperity, health, and happiness.
